Tucked into the shelter of the cliffs of West Portholland, 1 Cliff cottage is a comfortable retreat in an area that hasn’t been allowed to change a jot since I spent much of my holidays there as a child in the 50s. Whatever the weather throws at the cottage it is well equipped to cope with, including comfortable beds, chairs and sofas, glorious views on the cove and cliffs, sheltered sitting spots and a picnic table with an overview of both Portholland beaches. Coastal path walks in both directions can lead you to the Lugger in Portloe for lunch, or Caerhays castle, gardens and beach café.
A perfect antidote to urban living.
